STIHL brings forward opening of its own online store at short notice
In these difficult and uncertain times, nature and our own gardens have offered a welcome retreat for many people. With this in mind, garden tool manufacturer STIHL has decided to bring forward the launch of its previously announced online store. From today, nearly all STIHL tools can be ordered online for home delivery.
“We have decided to immediately bring forward the launch of our online store which was planned for spring, in order to offer our customers a point of contact for STIHL gardening tools, accessories and other STIHL products despite the comprehensive restrictions affecting the retail trade,” said Norbert Pick, STIHL Executive Board Member Marketing and Sales.
Customers on the new website can access the same expertise and professional service as when buying in a specialist shop. Those who have their tools delivered at home and want to immediately get to work with them will find the appropriate instruction videos and articles on the new site. There is also a section containing project ideas and tips for your garden – from proper lawn care to DIY projects. Customer Service is also available by telephone or e-mail to answer queries about the tools.
Strengthening the specialist trade right now
“Our specialist trade partners are fully integrated into the new e-commerce experience,” Pick went on to say. With every purchase in the new STIHL online store, the customer is also given a recommended nearby specialist dealer. This means – when the current situation permits it – our representative can be consulted as usual, for advice and professional service. “For providing these services, the local dealer receives a payment from STIHL at the time of purchase. In this way we are strengthening brick-and-mortar specialist dealers.” Further services such as online purchasing with in-store pick-up, plus instruction and guidance from the specialist dealer will be added soon.
